Be done soon.

I've tolerated you for about as long as I possibly could, but I'm reaching my limit.

What's the story behind your username?

View other answers

The story behind my username is kind of stupid and kind of childish but whatever...

Anyways, I'm a huge fairytale fan, being both a reader and a girl, and I always thought that the end of every fairytale(and they lived happily ever after) was kind of bland, as all it assured was happiness, and not much else. And I thought it was sad that all spells ended at midnight, so I made my name ever_after_12 because my ever after would last beyond midnight.

So, it's been a while since I've posted anything. Mostly due to time and laziness, but mostly cause my family was visiting.

Anyways, I got accepted into Carleton, which is kinda awesome cause it's really early acceptance. On the other hand, I'm lke failing all of my exams, which will lower my grades a shitload, and I might not even be able to go...

And this stupid article I'm working on is such a piece of crap, and our debate is 2mmrw and we're def. not ready cause some stupid fuck volunteered us to go.

At least I can stay home on thursday.

So, I realize I haven't posted in like, 2 months.

I got a little busy...or lazy, whichever you prefer.

But, I came out out hibernation, and that's all that matters.

:D

Anyways, not much blog-worthy stuff to post, hence the lack of posting.

However, we are coming up to my second favourite holiday, and I pimped out my lj in celebration.

I love Halloween.

Anybody doing anything special for it this year?

I am most likely going out 2 a party.

After I hand out candy, which I secretly enjoy.

And, in theme with the writers block question, anybody got any good ghost stories they wanna share?

Bored, and tired.
This is what I do...

:)

Stolen from rhianna_aurora, cause she's cool like that.

1. Bold the names of guys you'd definitely shag.
2. Italicize the names of guys you might shag after a little persuasion.
3. Leave the guys who don't do anything for you alone.
4. Put a question mark (?) after the guys you've never heard of.
5. Strike the guys you wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole.
6. Add four of your own at the end.
NOTE THAT THESE ARE THE FICTIONAL CHARACTERS, NOT THE ACTORS THEMSELVES

What type of person do you attract?
Your Result: You attract artsy people!

Those free spirited artists with great imaginations find you interesting. They are usually interesting themselves, so its not a bad thing, but they CAN be a bit wifty and choose odd goals. If you like life to always be a bit 'different' from the norm, but not too extreme in any one direction, these are the people for you. If you seek logical decision making skills and good money management, you may want to change something in the way you appear. Artsy people are fun for adventure and exploring, so, have fun! (smoking weed helps too)

So, I haven't posted in a while...

Been kinda busy, I guess.

And there's a lack of things to talk about.

I have two jobs now, cashier at Zellers and Deli slave...

And right now, even though I never thought I'd say this, I kinda prefer Deli slave...

I had to stay an extra 40 minutes at Zellers, and was late for slave.

Pissed me the fuck off.

And then last night, when I finally did get to sleep, I had the weirdest/scariest dream I've had in a while.

My grandparents used to own this old house in Edmonton, and they lived in it for over 20 years. It's where my brother got sick, my Grandma had fainting spells and strokes, and was eventually bedridden and unable to do anything for herself for over 12 years, and it's where my Grandpa got cancer.

So, that house, for everyone in my family, isn't exactly full of good memories...

And later on, my Uncle was investigating the house, because he received it in the will, and found out that it was actually on top of an old graveyard, that had never been moved.

Yeah, that's also the plotline for Poltergeist.

Whatever.

Anyways, my dream begins in this house.

There's me, and a couple of my cousins just hanging out. My younger cousin Tyler, is about 5, and has never met my Grandma.

So, anyways, we're sitting there watching TV, and my cousin suggest we play with a spirit board. So we bring it out, and suddenly my Mom and Aunt are there to.

We move the pointer around for awhile, and I notice that the house feels darker, but nobody else does.

Eventually, nothing happens, and everyone goes back to watch TV.

And then it starts getting weird.

My Grandma comes in, and nobody else but me can see her.

This probably wouldn't freak anybody else out, but my memories of my Grandma are always of her unable to move, talk or do anything, so to have her be able to look at me and smile, is just so scary.

Anyways, she sits by my cousin Tyler, and he says something to her, and as I look around, I know, that nobody can see her.

I try telling my Mom and Aunt, and they get really angry because they want to believe that she's in heaven, and not a ghost.

And then we're at my Aunt Shelia's house (Great Aunt), and she starts screaming at me, calling me a devil child and stuff because I can see her sister, and she's supposed to be in heaven.

And then I leave, and as I'm walking down the steps, my Grandma is sitting on them, not saying anything, just smiling at me, wearing a pink and orange sari.

And then I sit down beside her, and she takes my hand, and then Aunt Shelia comes and screams at me some more, so I leave.

And now I have a really bad headache, like pounding my head, so I roll over, and I'm awake.

Creepy Dream, huh?

Anyways, I've got to work in like 3 hours...

I need more sleep.

So, haven't posted in almost 2 weeks.

Mostly because majority of that time, I have been sleeping.

It's my hobby.

Anyways, one of my Uncles, of the incredibly Christian and homophobic variety, has decided that when his wife gives birth to his first girl of 3 children, he is going to raise her differently; different set of rules, allowances, groundings etc, based on the fact that she's a girl.

Raise your hand if this disgusts you.

*hands rise with Hermione-esque speed*

I realize that that was the way my mother and aunt were raised, but to be fair, they were raised in Guyana, a 3rd world country populated by Indians who got on the wrong boat.

One of my cousins was raised this way.

Her brother got away with EVERYTHING, and she was pretty much confined to the house until she was 17.

The blatant double standard is so disgusting, and my Uncle cites the facts that
a) Eve sinned, and therefore women are weak
b) Men are the stronger of the species
c) women can get pregnant
as reasons supporting this method.

I realize that people are always raised differently, depending on your parents, where you're born, siblings, etc, but when you live in Canada, is this really right?

(My Uncle really isn't that bad, he's a good guy, just confused)

I also, as you may know, had to put up with a SHITLOAD of homophobia while out there.

Everyone has a right to an opinion, but when it offends someone, or you know it will offend them, try not to rub it in their face.

Especially mine.

Gay slurs don't make you any more manly, or any more christian for that matter.

Give it up.

I've been back at work for a while, and have yet to work with either one of my bitchy bosses.

My good luck runs out tomorrow.

Kill me now.

Except Zellers called me back for a 2nd interview, and asked me 2 bring all of my information with me; SIN number, birth certificate, etc.

So, I think I'm hired...

Or, I hope.

I really, REALLY need have more options than just Deli Slave.

And, I'm going to see Dark Knight tomorrow.

I'm going to cry/die throughout the entire movie...

No lie.

And then Chelsea's party is Wed. night, for which I'm VERY excited, cause I haven't seen anybody in FOREVER.

But that's pretty much every summer...

Icon Meme.
(given by Lizzy Rebel)

Icon Meme!
1. Reply that you wish to take part, and I will pick four of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee!

I chose this pic because, for me, romance is always double edged. I'm a very wary person when it comes to romance, and I'm the kind of person who will always be paranoid about betrayal. And that's really reading a lot more into an icon than normal...
:)

I love this pic, because like pretty much everyone else, I love fairytales and myths, anything involving a story maybe. That, and I'm a romantic, so anything involving the two pretty much makes this pic one of my favourites.
^-^

This pic reminds me of both Harry Potter, and The Wizard of Oz. Both of which are favourite novels of mine, so instant love. And I just love the simplicity of it. Just a tree, sky, and a rainbow. I'm a simple kind of person.
Which also makes me dumb, but w/e.
:D

I think pretty much everyone is a Disney kid at heart. Even the emo kid walking down the street once upon a time loved Snow White. One of my favourite Disney movies is Peter Pan, just because, for a childrens story, the idea is just amazing. Everyone wants to be a kid again, if not for forever, than at least a little while. What always made me mad was that Wendy wanted to leave. That's why I love this pic, because if I had made that choice, I would have always regretted it.
Don't even get me started on return to Neverland.

In other news, I'll be home by tuesday morning, and ready for a Bollywood fest.

The 6 year old I babysat for was hit by a car.

What is the fucking point of that.

If there is a god, as most people believe, then what is the point of a child dying?

I doubt that that little boy did anything other than be adorable and sweet.

It's horrible, and my thoughts go out to the family.

So apparently homophobia is a big thing in my family.

Along with using gay slurs as insults and saying that you'd kill yourself if you turned out to be/your parents were gay.

I get that some people just aren't comfortable with it but COME ON!

Oh, and Mom?

Thanks a heap for yelling at me about being upset about it, your understanding was really helpful.

-_-

Fuck you.

And now we're on a meme, because I need something to take my mind of this bullshit that I can't say anything about unless I want to be grounded forever.

This is pretty introspective guys, so be warned.

Mainly the result of a conversation with my best friend, and the really rainy night we seem to be having in my area of the world.

***

I wonder, really, how deeply my upbringing has affected me.
I guess everyone does, but really, how do small events really shape us?
Being bullied as a child because I was brown, is that something that has affected me on a baser level even I don't fully realize?
Is that something that I'm never going to get past, the fear that people are judging me solely based on the colour of my skin.

I've never really thought that anyone has been racially prejudiced against me in a long time.

But noticing at work, how I'm told SO much more than others that the work I'm doing isn't up to par, even when certain people just sat on the phone for half an hour and didn't do anything, or that out of everyone who went home a little early, I'm the only one that gets in trouble.

I've discussed this with my best friend before, that maybe even when someone is being racist, we can't say anything, because in the end, it wouldn't even be that's she or he is a racist, but that we "pulled the race card".

I realize that sometimes that happens, and it's horrible that people use their colour for personal or professional gain, but when did it become a stereotype to speak out against racism?

Onto something else now, because I'm fairly random like that.

Everyone has that one relative that's overly religious.
It's pretty common, no matter what religion. But my Mom's entire side is so religious they literally can't talk about it without getting into screaming matches.

I asked my Uncle once what he would do if my 4 year old cousin turned out to be gay.

He said he would disown him because he didn't want that sin to touch him.
At what point to we stop and look at the choices that religion makes for us?

When do people finally realize that blind faith only takes you so far, and that the cost of their ignorance just might be someone they love, or the person they could be.

We say religion is someones choice, but everyone is born into it, so at what point was the choice ours?

I tried to experience different religions last year, and my Mom's answer was to get my wonderful, homophobic uncle to yell at me for almost 45 mins over the phone, and then watch Sunday church specials until I understood what was right.

At what point does religion become not something you were born into, but a personal choice?

Is it ever ours to choose?

Simply based on the geography of where you are born, religion isn't something that you want, but take without question.

I realize that sometimes I and not others make a big deal of religion, but it's because whenever we go to visit with my Mom's family, it's a constant topic of discussion.

"Sam's weird cause she reads Harry Potter, and gets devil ideas"
"Sam is falling off the path, she should be rebaptized"
"Sam, you need God, where else will you turn?"

At what point is it no longer their fault, and instead becomes mine, that religion is an issue so big, that I just automatically feel uncomfortable around overly religious people.

At what point do we cease to be our experiences, and instead be ourselves?
